Something snapped

Some where on this site, someone that had a 07 Expedition said that their drivers side interior door handle broke inside the door. Well today you can add me to the list also as when opening the drivers side door getting out of the SUV something "snapped" inside the door. The handle still works, but now it "flops" around. I only have 4000 miles on it and I am the only driver and don't abuse the door handle in any way. It is now on the dealers fix list the next time I am there.

For me, the jury is still out on this 07.

I bought my 07 used with 14k miles on it and the handle did the same thing shortly after purchasing it. I didnt hear it snap but the handle didn't return back to its original position. Brought it to the dealer and had it fixed.

Are you talking about the chrome latch that releases the door? Probably a plastic clip. The dealer will fix it.

Berry1234,
I am not sure what broke. but seems to be something on the inside of the door that causes the handle to be "floppy". But I did hear a "snap" when this happened.

Yeah. that handle connects to a rod or cable that releases the door. Maybe a spring or something. Definitely covered under warranty.

Well Ford says there really is a problem with the door handles.

Mine snapped on the drivers side door, (see original post)

Recall 08S03

Ford quality.

Now if my transmission would shift right.

But I won't hold my breath for a recall on that.

Can you guys still open the door with the handle being "broken"? I hope you guys do not have to roll the window down to get out.
