Question steering stablizers

my steering is a little loose when im driving. i have two superlift steering stablizers, i just need the brackets, which i could probably make. i think i read somewhere though, that they are had on your steering pump, and can make it fail. is this true?

I have a single skyjacker stabilizer on my truck. I'm running 32" tires on 10" rims. It definetly tightened up the steering some. The ps pump isn't whining any more than usual. I don't know what affect a dual stabilzer might have on your ps though..

There are a lot of trucks with stock pumps, So it isn't going to bother your steering
anymore than if you were to turn your steering wheel while sitting still which you should never do with big tires it is hard on the steering system!!(roll at least a couple inches) The brackets are
nothing more than 1/8 plate bent and u bolted on.

you need to check out everything before going with a stabilizer. check your tierods, ball joints front bearings etc.. make that stuff all tight then go with the stabilizer, its safer that way

Yea, stablizers are not a cure for slop. They can make it more manageable when there is slop. Two stab's will make your steering box last longer, may be a little harder on your pump. If your running anything bigger than 33's, their a must.

PS I hope the mounts are thicker than 1/8". (mine are)

Lets talk about Pumps and Boxes. Ive got a pretty gooood story let me tell ya. I had my 79 bronco that you had to white nuckle it just to get it down the driveway. I had a 4 inch suspension lift and 35's, I took it into a shop to get the front end fixed and he said that everything was great. So he aligned it for me and that helped just a little. Still one sloppy SOB. So i ordered a dual stabilizer kit. Didnt do much. So i went boggin and burnt up a power steering pump. Come to find out that my dad kept ordering power steering pumps for a 400 and not a 460 that was in it. He just told them a 79 Bronco. So i got the right pump and that helped. I had my dad shake the steering wheel while in park and my steering shaft u joints were shot. SO i bought a new one of those, and that helped a little but still bad slop. I started taking a look at the steering box, I ended up getting a used one that was worse than the one that was on my truck, so i put my old one back on, (Those Things are Freakin Heavy). I Went to another bronco site and they gave me a link to a high performance steering box and i bought one of those, It was expensive but it tightened it right up. Total stuff i bought new was a new rag joint, steering shaft, steering box, and a pump. It got tighter but still a little loose, and come to find out i should have got Drop Radius arm Brackets. I guess those help out a ton. Im definatly getting those when i lift my 95 Bronco. Good Luck its fusterating having sloopy steering.
