jonboat
I have a 14'8" Fisher jonboat that I would like to carry on the bed instead of on a trailer. My favorite lakes don't take too kindly to dragging into and launching from trailers. Anybody else had, and overcome, this problem? If so... how? The boat weighs 168lb's so going overhead isn't desired except as a last option as I often fish alone and some trails are rather overgrown, eh!
Again,
Pic's appreciated.
could be adjustable and it supports the end of the boat. Basically you back up and
lift the front of the boat up and put it on the extension thing, Slide the boat into
the bed and strap it down. The shape is kind of like a T with a 90 degree bend that
then connects to the reciever. I used to put my 17' canoe up on my ladder rack, It was a pretty heavy fiberglass canoe with a motor mount and add ons to hold
my cooler and the front seat was a boat seat and I had bracket deal to mount it.
All I had to do was get the front on the rack and it slid up pretty easy after that.
That canoe was fast when I went out alone I could lock the motor straight and all
I had to do was lean to turn, kind of like a motorcycle. The fastest I went was 18 mph
fully loaded with fishing gear, cooler and me. I have a 2 hp Yamaha that thing would
run good as soon as I found out it took 100:1 I got it at a yard sale for $75.00 I was running 50:1 and eating spark plugs and running crappy, I went to get an impellar for it
and found out it is a 100:1 and man that puppy tripled speed after that!!
