racetrack trim

How do you remove this trim from the truck panels without bending it all up?

I will be adding this trim to some used panels (doors, box, etc) that originaly did not have racetrack trim. Since the panels don't have the factory attaching metal studs, how do you attach the plastic molding clips to the panels?

Thanks,
Eric

The center area of the chrome trim is heal on with plastic clips that pop rivets or just stainless steel sheet metal screws.

The End of the trim are held on with a special spring steel retainer.

I just took off a bunch tuesday.. I use a flat screwdriver with masking tape on the end so the paint doesn't get scratched

On mine some of the clips are actually studs that you have to remove the nut from on the inside. The clip itself is very hard to get off untill the trim is off.

by the way Dennis Carpenter now offers this trim. Some of the sponsors catalogs show blow up views of things like this and how they attatch.

A plastic putty knife will give you a wider edge, and won't scratch the paint.
