Late Model Radiator Support?

Ok, I've been looking for a rust free 80-86 radiator support for quite a while now with no success. Every one I've seen is rusted out along the bottom on the battery side. Some not as bad as others, but none the less they are all rusty.

Go figure.

My question is: will a later model radiator support work on these years? I've seem some pretty nice one's in the junk yards and they look very similar. They are a little different on the top, but the rest looks the same.

I'm in the process of putting a rust free 85 cab, 84 box, 91 doors (vent windows and mirrors are a little different but I don't care), 85 fenders and hood on my truck and I'd hate to put a rusty piece of crap for a radiator support on it and I don't want to go after market.

Has anyone put a later model one in an earlier truck without any problems?

Thanks in advance.

If your bone yard is decent try the swap right there in the yard, Pull the one you want
then find a truck like yours and if your lucky it will already be out or remove it and try it there. If it doesn't work at least buy something and put the parts back where you got them with a couple bolts to hold it!! How about doing a bit of rust removal and
riveting or bolting in some new thicker metal.

That's a lot of work! I can fix anything with metal and tig weld, but I don't have the time. I would rather find one without any rust
