Truck keeps dying
My '69 keeps draining the battery, the battery is new and also I just replaced the alternator and voltage regulator could the culprit be the seliniod ? The truck has no radio or stereo so there is no clock and the truck does not have the door switches for the interior light to go on, so there could not be a drain anywhere. Lights are all out, anyone have any ideas. Thanks

Connect a voltmeter in series with the battery. If it show voltage, something is on draining the battery. Now to find it start pulling fuses and connectors. When you find it the voltage will drop to Zero.

I believe I found the problem of the truck killing the battery. I checked all grounds and cleaned them, then removed the neg. battery cable and put a test light on the neg. post then to the neg. cable that is dissconected, low and behold the light lit right up, so I started to pull fuses to get the light to go out but no luck (only five fuses on these trucks) then I dissconected the voltage regulator and the light went out. I reinstalled the old one I removed and plugged in the voltage regulator and rechecked the battery cable that was dissconected and no light. So the problem is the regulator, I will know for sure tomorrow after the truck sits for 20 hours without running, if it fires up then it was the brand new regulator. Heres crossing my fingers, and thanks for the guidence guys.
