Question Chip Reccommendations?

I have a 1998 F150 with 4.6L V8. The engine has decent power with the K&N intake system and Flowmaster dual exaust but I am really curious about a chip. I know Edge Products puts out great products for diesels but I also know they have the evolution available for my truck. Any reviews on it? Good or Bad? Or should i be lookin elsewhere like Hypertech or somethin like that.

thanks for your input. does your chip have a fuel economy setting? when im not burning extra fuel i'd like to save some. the edge one i mentioned in my last post does not so i am really looking for a chip that can tune my motor down when i want also.

the chip has three settings one is for 87 octane and daily driving, one for towing, and one for high performance. You have to reprogram it each time so that kinda sucks but it only takes about five minutes

also, i am getting this chip basically for towing...should i be worried about the life of my tranny? i put B&M trickshift in it about 40,000miles ago and that firmed things up a lot but i dont want to put the chip on tow setting and be somewhere with a load on and no drivetrain...

I have the 5.4 and the superchip and use the tow mode alot with no probs, like most tuners when in performance you need to run 92 or higher octane..not sure about the shift kit, I would talk to a reputable tranny shop..
For towing gears is a big plus..

I am very pleased with the Sniper special forces I just put on my 98 5.4. A little more complicated, but more is possible.

I had a Jet Performance Chip for about the last 10 years. I have read alot of things about tuners. No body was making them when I bout the Jet chip. Pulled it out last Fri. Not alot of differance with the Jet chip. Last Fri. I got a SuperChips tuner. Tuned it Sat. I like it alot. It really firmed the shifts. I have a 97 5.4L, K & N Intake and Cat-back Exhaust system.

I had the same setup, the jet chip that I could tell did help at 2500rpm and up but I rarely stayed in it that long, jet chip has been for a while..
