Question Coolant filter??

Is anybody running a coolant filter? I have a 1987 Ford F250 with a non turbo 6.9 and read about running a coolant filter and was wondering what the advantage is if there is an advantage?

They are an easy way of maintaining the DCA or SCA in the coolant. That is why they were put on in the first place. They will filter some but you they aren't very tight as far the media is concerned. You don't what it plugged up becuase if it does the time released tablet won't get put in the coolant right with out flow through it. There are filters with out the additive also.

as far as I know all big trucks have them everybody expects ioooooo miles before problems such as eloctrolasis getting liners so they must work they are cheap might be worth trying on 7.3s where there is a known problem.
we also monitor our scas at oil change using additives as needed.
