The Key fob as well as the driver door lock button on the arm rest only unlock the driver front door. The other 3 dont move.
Am I looking at 3 new actuators which seems odd that all 3 would drop out, or is there a thing with the Electrics of the switch not working across to the other 3 doors?
Unless there has been a change from the norm for many years, the passenger side front door is the primary for the lock circuits. Pull the boot between the door and the side walls that covers the wiring from the doors. Just slide them to one end or the other and start looking for a broken wire. With the doors opening and closing enough times, usually a wire will break. Also check for wires pulling out of the back of the switches in the connectors.
And there is a write up somewhere on this website detailing how to repair the resistors that go bad in the actuator. So either a bad wire, or resistor from what I have read.
You can probably find the resistor write up with a search.
these trucks have a very poorly designed door lock actuator and I found a way to fix them on this site. do a search for PDL or door lock actuators i cant find but it is really easy. I think it is the thermal resistor in the electric motor in the the actuator will get hot and will not function properly.
I believe it is the driver front door that is in control of door locks on truck on other ford lincoln mercury they call it a driver door module (ddm) just FYI
hope this helps
