started having grinding noises when i would turn rt or lt at slow speeds
got worse the hotter it was
sometimes the tires even squeal a little when turning
dont hear or feel anything when going straight
already changed the rear diff fluid
didnt help
i was told that it probably wasnt a wheel bearing but my rear diff needed to be rebuilt
the only kits i can find have to be purchased from the ford dealer......i think they called it a clutch kit and said it would have everything i needed ?
I HATE BUYING STUFF AT THE DEALER
any ideas??????
websites????
info??????
thanks
i have already fixed my odometer and a bad coil w/ help from this forum....it rocks!!!!!!!!!!!
The dealer is referring to the clutch paks in the Ford Trac Loc differential. Usually a new set of clutch paks is $50 give or take a bit. The axles have to be moved out of the way to do it. If your gonna go that far I would do axle bearings too. A dealer will kill you in labor for this job.
