Does anybody know?

If the diesel spark burns hot enough to burn transfluid? I know this seems like a dumb question but transfliud is widely used as an injector and valve cleaner and lube. My thoughts is if like a gas burner a diesel doesnt burn it all then some should still be in the exhuast and sould clean/lube the turbo vanes. Any thoughts are welcome.

I was told to not do that to these engines. I think the only things recommended for cleaning injectors are fuel additives. I use power service. Just my two cents though...

I reckon the EGTS are a good indacation that the fuel is burning alot hotter than the fluid's flash point,,,right? Thanks for your info I looked at a couple MSDS tonight and they did'nt have the flashpoint and I have'nt checked w/ google yet. I'll do that now.

Dustball I wonder why. I know they say dont use meth or achol or oil. Never heard anybody say not to use transmission fluid. I dont see what its going to hurt. I use it myself, I also use diesel kleen.

Running transmission fluid in the diesel fuel is old school advice for old school diesel engines and injectors.

In the 6.0 (and all modern EGR equipped) diesel engines running transmission fluid in the diesel fuel is hard on the injectors, EGR system and can potentially cause coking on the VGT turbine blades. I believe that running transmission fluid in your diesel fuel is going to have the opposite effect you are looking for, and cause more headaches and problems than it will ever solve.
