Is it possible to hook up a normal wall electrical outlet to the upfitter switches? There is very little information about those switches. What kinds of attachments are available?
For a "normal wall electrical outlet" you will need a inverter to convert the truck's 12V DC power into 120V 60Hz AC power. You don't need the upfitter switches for this.
In the '08's the switches go to a set of wire leads right behind the fuse panel under the steering wheel.
Switch #1 is Yellow 30 AMP
Switch #2 is Green/Brown trace 30 AMP
Switch #3 is Violet/Green trace 10 Amp
Switch #4 is Brown 10 Amp
So basically anything DC can be wired right into these. I have a PIE for the radio, a CB, and the high idle on mine right now. If you need AC, get an inverter. I have a small one for a cig lighter that can run my laptop.
