I went out to get lunch today from work and driving around. I got on it a little bit and then rolled to a stop light were the idle began to drop and recover drop and recover fro about 20 sec and then leveled out. Just the other Day the truck wouldn't start in the morning at first, just cranked and cranked, after about 5 min of letting it chill tried again and it started right up. just so happens i was going to the dealer to get the oil and Fuel filter changed that day. i asked them to check it but since it was sat the parts department was closed and half the techs in the oil change area had no idea what i was talking about.
the truck has just under 100k on it and im not sure if the CPS has ever been changed before. i know its been an issue for alot of the guys in here and was wondering if any of you had any input on this case.
Any information would be great
Thank you
TC
and for mods i just have a 4" turbo back, DP tuner and just a 6637 filter.
First thing to do is check your oil level, and make sure it's full. Low oil level can do some really wierd things.
If your engine oil sump level is OK, the second thing is to check the oil level in the HPOP (hex keyed nut in the port on the top of the HPOP... check the level before starting the engine, and it should be up near the top of the cavity.
yeah i just had the oil changed on sat and i checked the level right when i picked it up and again when i got home. everything checked out fine.
I am left scratching my head on this, i think i should just go ahead and replace it just in case, its not an expensive part and could save me from getting stranded out in the middle of nowhere.
The Injection pressure regulator(IPR) gets it marching instructions from the PCM , based on what the Injector control pressure reg (ICP ) sees....The PCM then tells the high pressure oil pump what you want ,based on the Throttle position sensor(TPS).....The injectors then use what they are given.....
