Building a 302

I have a 302 out of a 88 f150 EFI. Well i was woundering what i would have to do to build a 347 stroker out of it and put it in a mustang or a ranger, should i keep it efi or carb? And are the blocks the same as a mustangs 302? I go to the university of northwestern ohio so i have the equipment.

you'll have to clearance the block a little for the crank, I'd sagest getting all your machine work done first, then order your kit so you only have to remove as much needed for the crank to spin freely.

EFI vs CARB, that boils down to personial prefernce, and state, and federal laws.

there agen go's to brand prefances, Holly, Edelbrock, AFR, FRPP, Trick Flow, and the rest, all have good stuff.

I'd sajest calling summit's or jegs's tech line, and tell them what your building, engine, vehicle, etc and see what they say.

FYI, The truck block is the same as a stang. not sure when trucks went to roller cam? but the block will have the provisions to swap to a roller if you want. The block needs to be clearanced for the rod bolts not the crank itself. Advise on picking the kit you want first ( forged/cast/lightweight/balance 28 or 50/ comp ratio, there are many options) then get your machine work done, cause you will probably like your parts for measurements, fitment, and maybe balance. Lots of heads to choose from, trickflow and AFR are a couple of the best in my opinion. Make a plan!! what is the engines intended use? then you can make desicions on the parts you need. Many, many, many, build ups can be found on the 347 stroker in different configurations. Its hard to beat already proven and tested combos, just pick one that fits your needs and copy.

I too wanna throw a 331 stroker in my 95, but its still up in the air, along with a twin turbo set up that 1st came to my mind. If you weren't going to stroke it, you can do what i'm already have on order, Trick flow twisted heads, Trickflow aluminum intake, medium cam, headers... I might also rig up NO2 but thats something that'll happen when spring time rolls around...
