97 4.2 Turbo?
Is there a cheap turbo setup I could buy and install on my 4.2? What are the pros and cons of turbocharging my 4.2? Can I turbo it and run on 89.5 octane fuel at my local gas station?
Can I build my own or is it recommended to buy one already set up?
Thanks

I've been on-the-go here lately with less web time.
Anyways, I haven't seen or read much around here in the last few years about turbo for the 4.2.
About 5 years or so ago, there was a regular here that did the turbo thing. There were several guys who got into hot-rod mods.
Try the "search" function and look for "trubo".
I'll bet you can find the old threads. If not let me know, and I'll see if I can dig 'em up.
Did the regular have any luck with the turbo and did he have any problems? I asked about turbocharging because I'll be putting 33's and 4.56's in both diffs and I would like to find more power to help the 4.2 move without effort.
How much power would the turbo add to the 4.2 and can it hold up under the pressure of boost? How much boost can the 4.2 take and run for thousands of miles without problems?
If it also runs on 89.5 octane at my gas station, I'm all for it.
Thanks
I checked back and was mistaken. He had SCed his 4.2, not TCed it.
Matter of fact, I can't find much of anything that would be of help when looking at TCing the 4.2.
Sorry-
