proud new owner

Het all new to this section now I have been collecting Ford trucks for sometime but these are my first really older style ones.
Anyways I have just bought 2 old 1943-47 trucks. 1 a Ford and 1 a Mercury.
Just wondering how can I tell the exact year of them the are both 1 tons but will be modiefed.
Basically my plans are too:

The Mercury, make it into a half ton, undecided if a newwer frame or just change the axles. Keep the 21 stud Flathead.

The Ford this may sound weird but its what I got so far.
Put the cab on a 1953 frame I got use the 24 stud Flathead but heres the kicker put a 4x4 system under it from a 68 parts truck I got.

Always interested in comments and suggestions, if anyone could tell me how to find out the exact year that would be great too!

Ryan

Well figure shouldn't be too bad, the axles from a 1968 4x4 should mate up to the 1953 spring, then just a matter of somehow getting the 1947 cab on the 1953 frame, then somehow mounting the transfer case, haven't figured that one out quite yet though.
