Explorer Steering Wheel Lights

Does the Cruise Control buttons light up? I can't remember.

They do on my '07 Eddie Bauer Explorer.

Mine is a 98. Do you know which fuse it is?

Yes, they should light up on all models. More likely the bulbs than the fuse?

How do I check the bulbs? And, why would both go out at the same time?

Try searching this site for instructions on accessing the bulbs. It's been covered a few times over the years. I haven't done it myself but I've been around here long enough and have owned enough Explorers to know that the bulbs burn out frequently. This is also the case of the bulb(s) on the door keypad and the headlight switch bulb. If it was a fuse I would suspect something else would not be working also since I doubt that the cruise control bulbs would be on their own circuit.
