Measurement please??

Hi Guys,

I am "Rigging" up a accelerator linkage and need to know a measurement from you guys with all original equipment. I do not have original motor and carb in my truck and my linkage is off. What is the measurement from the back of your gas pedal, down to the floor?? My pedal is sitting very high and I need to adjust it, but need to know where it should sit at idle.

Thanks.

From the back side of the 7/16" diameter rod at the bend which will make first contact with the carpet when floored I measure 2 1/4" with the tape measure compressing the carpet. This on an original 68 CS with original linkage with the spring loaded pedal. Use this as a starting point then correcting for full throttle at the carb when floored, a common occurrence with me.
