electrical problem

I had a problem with my charging system. I replaced the battery, alternator, regulator, etc. Finally I thought I tracked down a wiring problem. My battery was then charging up to 17 volts. Weak battery. Then I got the real glitch. Now I have no power to anything. Ignition, headlights, etc. all dead. The battery has a full charge, but something else went fubar. Any insights? Maybe a simplified wiring diagram? Thanks in advance.

What year? I would look at the fuse link/s in the wire attached to the starter relay on the fender.

17 VOLTS woohoo that's a weak battery in a military vehicle!! Your reg took a crap, it jumped up the voltage and then cooked itself and your fusible links with it. Put a VOMeter on the fusible links and check for resistance and voltage. Take the alt out and get it tested and if you got a ext regulator bring that too!! Don't hook up the same alt without it being tested or more damage may ensue!!
