The FelPro gaskets have a marker, 'front' on the gaskets and IF I remember, the front is open and the rear is closed. But wrong installation WILL cause problems, so get some more opinions or check with the manufacture of the gaskets. I use FelPro because I like the quality.
Using Fel Pro gaskets, the blue one's Yesterday aftear talking to machine shop and asking about this, He stated that both holes in front need to be close for water jacket, if so looking at the gaskets one will have to be flip over to make it work again thanks in advance for any advice

I just read the book and it says:
be sure to install the gasket in the right direction - there is a front to each gasket. the front of the big-block head gasket has no water passage, the rear has a tear-drop-shape water passage about 2-1/2-in long.

Just for my peace of mind, is the 'front' marking on the FelPro the part that doesn't have the water passage? In other words if you install them with front toward the front, is that the correct way?
