i am turning my 77 f250 into a dually and i was wondering how i can make my front axle ( a dana 44) fit a dually rim. will it fit right on or do i need to modify it in any way
im goibng to hopefully try the rim tonight but the spacers could definatly work. Do you know if a dually front axle is longer or shorter thn a regualar axle because they have like 4 or 5 inches of spacing on the rotor. wonder if a rotor would work
i deffinatly will. guess i need to do some looking around. it wont be for awhile but i bought the rearend and rims today. i want to buy some 285 75 16 on it or 33 11.5 16 if you dont know metric but dont know if i will need spacers
i already had the rearend. just wanted a back up and figured 200 dollars for rear end and rims wasn't to bad. spring perches dont need to be moved to my knowledge
but i have a high boy if that makes any difference
the adaptors for the rotors are easily removed from a dually truck. soak them down and unbolt the adaptors, so the rims will be the same all the way around.
so they justy bolt to the rotor? Im sure it probably does but does it matter if its 4 wheel drive or 2 wheel drive because i can probably get them from the junk yard
mine is 2wd. i think it was 8 bolts to unbolt the adaptor. if i remember the 3/4 and 1 ton used the same rotor. have the salvage yard cross reference it.
