All of a sudden my fuse for lights keeps burning out. 1st time it happend I was driving truck for about an hour when pop, no tail, body, cab, or dash lights. 2nd time it blew as soon as I turned lights on. Today the fuse lasted about 2 min. What gives here? Obviously I have a short but, where do I start looking? Any help please. Not being able to drive my truck at night sucks big time.
Check all your bulbs. A not so easy but decent test method would be to pull all the bulbs turn the lights on. If the fuse pops then you've got a short hidden somewhere in the wire harness or an aftermarket accessory. If the fuse doesn't pop then plug the bulbs in one by one until it pops.
i have seen a few trucks with the fuse box harness melt and pop the fuse to the running lights. do you pull a trailor or toy hauler with alot of lights?
The first time that the fuse blew I was pulling my 33' travel trailer. Now it pops fuse without trailer. Truck is completly stock with 0 aftermarket anything. I just hit 10k miles. I would hate to take my truck to Ford for a blown fuse.
