I have a 2004 f250 4x4 PSD I hear a roaring sound in the left front end from 20 mph to 50 mph. I have all terrain tires. I hear it louder if when the tire pressure is higher. Any help would be appreciated. Also Ford put a new hub assembly on a while back.
Now..with the hubs unlocked turn the front drive shaft and watch the front axle u-joints (at the wheels)...If they turn try to hold them (one at a time) ...If you cannot hold them, then the hub is not really unlocked from the axle.
If you have a hub that is not unlocked this may be causing your noise...One hub may still be locked in and hanging up..spinning one axle and the front diff.
Make sure both axle joints are free.. (from the wheels and the driveshaft connection)
Sometimes those cheap Ford hubs hang up in the lock position even though you turn them to Auto or free...
