I know this may have been done before but since the plant is closed down until the 22nd I have time to research some sftermarket fitments for my truck. I'm looking for a LB trck cover that will keep the bed dry and aloow 100% use of the bed if needed, durable, strong, lockable, and easily removable. Please help me pass the time away while I wait. I have re-paved the drive way and created a special parking space for my new truck and dump trailer and now I have everything but the truck.
Keeps the stuff under it totally dry. Removes in about 5 minutes when you need to use the bed. Got in on ebay for about $100 off of the website list, with free shipping. Acually, it was sitting in my driveway the next day. I was shocked.
I really wanted a Diamondback, but my budget would not allow it at the time.
The last guy mentioned the diamondback. That is what I would go with. They are secure, practical, and look incredible. Here is there site if you are interested: www.diamondbackcovers.com. A friend of mine has one, and it is incredible.
I have been using a retrax retractable bed cover that they had to custom make because I have a toolbox in the bed as well. It's lockable, I haven't gotten anything wet inside of it and we've had some good storms here the past couple of days and plus you don't have to remove it to use the gooseneck hitch or if you need to have room for things to stick up(just hauled a pto driven wood chipper in the bed and no problems just pulled the bed back into the canister and loaded the chipper on up). Plus if you need to allow some room for things to stick up but you don't want to have to retract the entire bed due to what else you might be carrying it works well for that as well(hauled some layers for my niece and I put them in the back, open up the cover a little bit to allow some air for them, but not to blow right on them so they catch cold). Hope this helps(pix of it are in my gallery).
