I searched but didn't find anything. Does anybody have any tips on removing the
evaporator, It looks like it can be removed from under the hood. Or is it a half under dash, half under hood, I hope all under hood. What size is the pipe diameter on the 86 bronco evaporator if anybody knows off the top of their heads?
Don't know the pipe size but back in the 80's/90's I used to install A/C on these trucks. Was an easy job, I never tried to split the case on the firewall as the AC kits came assembled. Just remove the jack and handle from the fenderwell, the nuts that go around the perimeter of the case. I think there was one nut under the heater hoses that was sometimes covered up with sealant and also loosened up the fender liner to get to the 2 outboard nuts from under the fender. There is also an electric and vaccum connector behind the glove box. Just take your time, it's all pretty basic. I have probably left something out as CRS is setting in. It might be easier to split the case but I've never done that. Hope someone will chime in.
