bending push rods
As some of you might have seen on another post I bought a 78 F250 4x4 with a 390 4V in it. I bought it knowing it had engine problems, it was bending push rods. The guy I bought it from put a new cam in it while he was rebuilding it right now its .030 over according to the pistons, anyway he put a crane cam in it and I have been told about a pushrod length tool, I personally have never heard of one, if I measure the lift can I calculate how much I need to either raise the rockers or shorten the pushrods? It would be nice to do this without having to pull the cam out to see what one it is. Also how much compression should I be seeing with standard pistons?
