i like the idea of polishing the pump reservior. now im thinking on how to do it.LOL
damn it PMS
I would try one of the nylon type sanding wheels they sell at all hardware stores. Slap it on a drill and see what happens. They come in differing grits but I would think the finer ones ought to get there quickly. Then any polishing compound and a wheel.
BTW, is that an aluminum housing like I think? If it is some kind of pot metal I would just paint it but I don't know what it is made of.
You could test the bottom side with a fine sanding wheel or just go straight to the paint. Being new, it may shine up very quickly.
He#% Kris, just paint it. It will look good. I just have had durability problems with anything I have ever painted that ends up in the engine compartment. You already have a paint scheme going so maybe just go with it.
Since this is my thread, instead of going to make a new one im just going to hijack this one. Take a gander at my Heat Extractor i finally got painted and put on.
Not sure. Should be. I got a great deal on it so i jumped on it. However once i got it, no wonder i got a good deal. A few deep scratches, looks like it was mishandled... Both rear corners had some bend marks in it where the 'glass cracked and had to be repaired. Should have paid the extra $160 for a new keystone.
Just curious since I want to get one for my 07...and I've had my Keystone on my 01 for 6yrs w/o issue, the cheaper ones are tempting though. Just curious about the quality of them/fit on the truck, etc..
Took a half hour to get it aligned right with two people. Rubs the plastic molding around the wipers some when it's down. It's wierd and very hard to explain. The details are very minor and near impossible to see but i do see it. On the left side, the gap between the top of the light is larger than the right side, however the gap between the left side of the top of the grille is LESS than the right side of the grille. Where the gap is less on the right side above the light. It must be in the hood becuase the old one was alot closer. Also, the sides of the hood do not perfectly match the fender line.
Kris, I know you have seen the pic of the polished Termi over on PSN, with the CAT yellow on his motor the polish looks good, but since you already have painted CAC tubes and spider you might as well match it. (although I think painting the Termi CAT yellow would look good too.)
Hood Looks great too.
