build dates......
was wondering about the build date of this new truck i am looking at. It's a 2005 but has a build date of 8/04...so i was thinking this was prob. still a 2004 motor and doesnt have the 2005 updates????

Look on the top of the passenger side valve cover for a sticker. It's about 4"x6" and will have the year of the engine on the upper-left. Bring a shop towel as it may have oil and dirt covering it up.
Edit: Write down the VIN and post it in the OASIS sticky thread at the top of this forum, that will really assist with the trucks history.

This link from the Ford Doctors site shows a blue/white sticker, you can see it between the trans fill and oil fill tube. The sticker on my Job #2 build (April 05) is red/white.
