Depends what you mean by "weak flow".
I am not a tranny expert and I have only done this once or twice and read something about it a few years back.
The fluid with the engine running should come out in a stream. Enough that it would make a huge mess pretty quick. If I recall something like a pint to a quart every 15 seconds is about right. It shouldn't dribble out.
A recommended maintenance item is to flush the cooler and lines on older trannies. The chebby shop manual recommended a chemical flush of the cooler and lines as a routine thing.
