Adjustable? clutch
-Peddle is at rest position (NOTE 1)
-push on it to get some slack out
-then it stiffens up
-then you push about 1/4 motion to disengage clutch (NOTE 2)
-then you push even further to trigger the ignition
Just got the truck, and being in the world of auto's so long I lost my way with manuals.
NOTE 1
I want to change the resting position so that it is slightly deeper than the brake peddle
NOTE 2
Can I adjust the peddle or some kind of pushrod on the slave so that My clutch is disengaged sooner than putting all this effort into reaching the disengage point.
I have a mechanical clutch in my 65 F100, and it is smoother than this POS.
Stoped in the parking lot and tested....clutch OUT, trying for 1st - the tranny slightly engages and you can feel the truck kinda budge.
push clutch in, go for 1st, won't go it, BUT I get that same feeling of slight budging feeling.....then hammer it in to get it to go into gear.
Does this mean my clutch is NOT disengaging properly.
I will try and pump the clutch at lunch and see if the slave can build up pressure and make it differant.
Just to test.....if it pumps up, obviously the slave needs bleed or replaced
