spindle seal question?
I have a 1996 f-150 4x4 and I am replacing the spindles. I am having trouble
figuring out which seal it is that I need. The seal that I need is the hard seal @ the back of the spindle. And I am pretty sure it is not the spindle bearing seal.
What is this seal called? I need to know so that I can get the correct part for my truck.

The 95-96 F-150's I've seen are slightly different than previous years. (Now I'm sure someone will say theirs is different, but this is how mine is, and how the manual says).
If you're replacing spindles you really should repack wheel bearings and replace both spindle seals. Wheel seals are two piece with one in the hub like normal and a second seal on the outside of the spindle. As for spindle seals, there's one in the spindle above the bearing, and one on the axle shaft.
As for the spindle seals, I have my reciept from doing mine this summer. This is a rare case where every seal I needed was MUCH cheaper from Ford! Two of these:
F3TZ-1S175-AA and F3TZ-1S175-BBA; plus two wheel seals does the job.
