i would like to find an intake for my 2006 f250 5.4l FI. but do they really make a difference, and whats the best bang for your buck..thats probably not even a question
I'm going with a K&N Aircharger for my 2005 5.4L 3V. Supposed to add 21HP according to the tests (can't always believe these) but it sure woke up my last truck (1996 GMC with 5.7L Vortec - K&N FIPK) and I'm hoping it will do the same for this.
Worst case scenario - I like the huge sound of sucking wind when you hit the gas with them installed (you can tell it's on there). Hope to have it installed in two weeks and I will post an update. Haven't seen much feedback on the new Airchargers from K&N for the 2005 and up 5.4L F250's yet. (about $250 USD is the cost - possibly less)
i recently installed the Airaid intake on my 06 f-250 with the 5.4l 3v..... it def increased power on the truck and i notice a bit better mpg also.... only took 10 min to install... i paid 139 bucks for it from summit
I put the hole K&N cold air intake on my SD and you could tell a little difference in power and the noise that it makes is awesome. But If you haven't already get a Programmer first thats what gave me the most difference in power.
I would stick with AFE ,Volant, airaid or true flow I just do not think K&N filter very well. if you know someone with one take off the filter and wipe with a white cloth down stream and you will see what I am talking about. I like AFE and trueflow
Have you looked at S&B? I have had various problems with other manufacturers throwing MAF codes, but the S&B doesn't. Let us know if we can help. (This is in regards to the F-150 trucks) S&B only makes a filter replacement for the F-250 at this time.
