It's time to nominate a new Chapter Leader for Nebraska!
By taking on this high-ranking position, you will be entitled to fame and fortune beyond your wildest dreams!
Ok, maybe not, but the chapter needs someone who loves Nebraska and Ford trucks. I will be around to help out with the transition and available to the new CL for any questions he might have. It's really not a tough job, and doesn't take up too much time since the Nebraska members seem to be pretty well behaved.
Once we get a few names, I will set up a poll so everyone can vote.
Hey CB, what about you? I know you live on the "other" side of the river, but I don't think there is any rule that says you have to live within the state border.
(If that were the case, I'll be fired in a few more weeks once my official state of residence becomes South Dakota.)
Looks like I need to be paying closer attention to what's going on in our beloved chapter!!!! I just saw this thread. Thanks for the nomination Pat. Anyway, I'm not real sure what all the chapter leader really does. Maybe Rob could let us know what all he does (or is supposed to do ).

I could tell you, but I'd have to kill you...
Actually, it's not really too tough a job. You just need to keep your eyes on the forum and make sure nobody is getting nasty. It's your duty to report bad apples to the moderators so they can take appropriate action.
The CL is supposed to keep the chapter forum active by posting topics when there hasn't been much going on in the forum. I try to make it a point to check the chapter forum daily. Obviously, I don't always post, but just checking in is a good thing to do.
You will get join requests from folks wanting to join the chapter... it's just another page that shows up under your "User CP" area. It's your responsibility to check that frequently. You get to approve or deny those requests.
The hard part of the job is recruiting. I send out PM's to folks when I see a post from someone who says they are located in Nebraska. Most of the time, I never get a response, but one or two new members have found us that way.
The CL is also supposed to encourage in-person meetings. Some of the regional chapters are real active that way.
You will get access to the Chapter Leader Forum where you can chat with other CL's and get ideas for your chapter. It also will have announcements of various things related to running a chapter.
Those are the major items... I am sure I've missed some. Like I said before, I have no intentions of jumping ship, I'll be available to help transition. I'll make sure whoever gets the job has my email and phone numbers. I'm more than willing to meet in person too.
Anyone else have nominations or questions? I'll let this thread go a couple more days, then start a poll for all the names mentioned.
I have to admit I havent been paying as close attention to our group lately. Ive been hanging out in the 73-79 forum and the 335 engine forum since Ive got a little project Im working on. But if I get voted in I will definitely be paying more attention to the group.
