Has anyone had issues with the reverse parking sensor on their Expy's?? Every now and again, when i go into reverse, the message centre says 'check parking sensor' and it obviously doesn't work, (which can make parking fun !!!). Then the next time it will work fine, for a few times, then i get the message back again?
Any ideas, maybe dirty sensor, or if anyone else has this issue, how did you manage to stop it happening again?
Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks guys, (or girls) , love the site, and love the Eddie Bauer more !!!!
Same problem, same truck and model year, but mine doesn't work most of the time. Occasionally, it will kick in though. Dealer wants a whole pile of money to mess with it, but if it works some of the time, I'm hoping that maybe it's something simple. Any ideas?
I am having the same problem on a 2003 Eddie Bauer Expy. except when mine doesen't give me the message it acts like something is right behind you. In other words it statrs beeping fairly fast but not a solid tone. I am assuming that is is a bad sensor but my Ford dealer wants $150 each for the sensors and $100 to look at it. Anybody know where to get cheaper sensors so I could at least rule that part out?
Same truck same year. Mine works fine. Sometimes I get the error but usually it's because some junk is on one of the sensors. If you have only two sensors visible don't forget that behind the rear facia is the radar sensor as well. This radar function was discontinues (but not in the Gator) in later models because of cost and they went to the 4 sonar type sensors
