If you look around there are hundreds if not thousands of links on the web about the LT vs ST header question, lots of people discussing it and lots of published dyno charts and test results. My first hand experience with these Ford trucks indicates that the longtubes produce results that are really well suited to the vehicles.. a significant low rpm boost in TQ right from idle, right where it's needed. I'll agree shorties are certainly a step up from the cast logs, and are much easier to just bolt-on to the existing plumbing. So for those that don't have the $$ or tools to tackle a complete exhaust retro then the choice is obvious.
I did a SAS on my 84 and I can't hook up my front driveshaft because the headers are in the way and that's with a 4" lift. the headers worked just fine with the stock frontend with no lift...but with the high pinion 44 from a 79 bronco the shaft wont fit.
Found this one...hope it helps.....it's a 302 with headman??? headers I think.
That does look like my Headmans for an early Bronco. The narrower EB width puts the diff. housing more under the motor. A set of headers for a 78-79 Bronco or pick up should be more toward the frame rail.
