Well, it looks like I now have a new feature called "broken headlight ****". The Ford dealer will be more than happy to sell me a replacement for $14 (Egads that's expensive) or I can get a fancy hope-it-won't-break billet one for $29 (+shipping) (Egads that's even more expensive) from these folks:
Ok here's my question. Is there just a regular old cheap plastic **** that I can get from the hardware store for cheaper? Looks are unimportant, function is.
I think Pep Boys has a wall of replacement parts like these. They are made to replace the OE part but may not look exactly like it. Always cheaper in my experience. Take your old one in and try to match it up.
Direct ford parts has them at MSRP $14.95 and list for $10.50.. Dummy that I am,I just went to my local Ford Stealer and got one for $20+ and then later was talking with the Lincoln dealer where I get my work done and the parts guy looked it up and ,sure enuff it was 14.95.. I am getting up a head of steam to go see the head guy at the stealer and just mention that it's a bit ridiculous when he has to make his whole years profit on one little headlite ****.. Oh,and his weathercraft floor mats are $98 a set for the "X"...
Another thing, does anyone know what that irratating little thing is on the ford parts link where you click on vehicle and up comes this durn Jeep ad?????
Speeking of TSB's. I went to the top to get recall info and that doesn't work. I was going to take care of the recall stuff this weekend. I know there is a recall but for the life of me I can't remember what it was. When I click on recall at the top of the page it says no matches found under select vehicle here. Is this operator error or something with the page?
yeha on our 01 excursion psd it just fell of in my dads hand when he went to turn on the headlights one day , we took it back ot the dealer and they said we couldnt just order the ****, but that we had to order the whole headlight switch assembly for like $100+ so we jsut superglued it back on and it still works :P. ill check out the recall tho.
That's what I wuz talking about.. When you click on the green vehicle link with the lines under it on the TSB page,up pops the Jeep ad... That's very misleading
