Just bought an 06 Freestar and was wondering if anyone knows where they stick the build sheet in the vehicle from the factory. Any info would be appreciated.
are you looking for the basic vehicle specs (build date, weights, tire specs, etc)? if so, they are usuall inside the driver side door jam..... along the rear edge.... but if you are looking for the big window sticker that lists all the options and pricing, then that could be anywhere.... i always keep mine in the glove box.
I bought my F250 several months ago and a buddy of mine mentioned that you can call Ford and they will MAIL you a build sheet showing the original build of your truck. So I called, they asked for the VIN and she said it would be researched and mailed to me....and about a week later it showed up! They will not give you any info over the phone because they forward the request to a researcher who actually looks up the build.
So, here's the number 800-392-FORD (3673).
The letter starts with the build date and location and then goes on to list all of the options put on the truck.
Really nice to have for those of us who buy second hand units.
Thanks for the build sheet phone #. I just requested one myself- took less than 5 minutes. The CSR said a researcher would contact me within two business days.
It will come in handy when I sell/trade the truck next year for a 2009.
Thanks for the info.....I have the window sticker for the vehicle. I'll call the number and see what they send me. I'm looking for the actual build sheet that has all the option codes and technical info that they go by when the van is actuall being built on the assembly line. Like on my 1980 Firebird, they put one on the bottom of the pass. side seat, and one on top of the fuel tank.
Sorry, the sheet you get will tell you when and where the unit was built and what options were installed....no option codes. This one is a plain and simple listing on what was installed on the line.
