HELP!! Wont start.
1989 F150 4x4 auto 351W Fulie. I was driving down the road and the thing back fired through the exhaust real loud like a gun shot a couple times then died. Now it wont start. It has fuel in the fuel rail, and it has spark at the plugs. It cranks over all day but will not fire at all.
If the computer or something quit would it have spark at the plugs and not run? With gas in the rail and fire at the plugs I am at a loss since it dont run. I also checked to see if the roter was spinning while cranking the engine and it does as it should. I also checked the distributer body for titeness and it did not seem to have spun. Please help...Thanks

It may have jumped timing in the timing chain...
WITH THE KEY OFF
get a socket on the crank pulley, pull the #1 spark plug, and roll it up on TDC
pop the cap off and see if the rotor points to #1

Does the fuel pumps run all the time the key is on or time out in one second?
It can also have fuel at the rail (fuel manifold) with a bad computer.
