SCT Question

I am not happy with performance or economy. Planning some upgrades on my '04 EX. Seems most readers are sold on SCT. Is there a 3 version out for our application? Is it more expensive? Why? Live in eastern NC only 4or5 hours from Hendersonville.

Currently ;
04 Excursion 120k miles
4" Turbo back MBRP
AFE Stage 2
Old Edge on 0 for monitor
Diablo on Tow/Econ

The Xcal2 and the Xcal3 are essentially the same device, the Xcal3 has more memory for canned tunes (which wouldn't get used anyways) and a better screen with more datalogging capabilities. I do not believe the cost is any different. I used to run an edge and the SCT tunes I have from Spartan are superior in every way. Power, shifting, economy. I've been pretty lucky as my X seems to always been on the high side for mileage but Matt's tunes certainly improved it.

Part of your problem may in fact be related to the AFE Stage 2 setup; I have seen reports that aftermarket intakes effectively screw up the calibration of the mass airflow sensor; resulting in improper boost/fuel maps for the engine.

Regardless; give Matt a call; he'll hook you up with some tunes that will totally change your truck's personality

Thanks. I think I will. I see on their website that they are AFE dealers so maybe they can help with the air and the tunes.
