Swap dashes?

I went to a junkyard today to get a pushrod today from gen 1 ranger with the 2.9. I found what I needed, but I noticed that the intstrument panel has a tach, and mine does not. What would be required to swap dashes and have the tach working? If it helps, they are both 4x4 w/5 speed manuals.

Ford has a habit of having the wiring harness ready for both types of gauge clusters. I bet it is 'plug and play' if the new gauges are from the same series.
