BioDiesel is available close to me and it is cheaper. Everything I read about it (80/20) suggests it runs fine and even may help mpg a smidge. I saw alot about how people experienced smoother running motors to...so..with this sounding like propoganda I wanted to throw it out here...anyone have any experience running BioDiesel, and were there any issues (other than maybe changing the fuel filter after it cleans the crap out of the lines)?-Andy-
Everything you need to know about BD is right here on FTE. I don't know much but I do know that as soon as it's available in my area .....I'm using it.
My return lines from the front of the heads to the FPR blew out on my 2nd tank of b20.... I don't know if it was linked or not, but look at them before making the switch, if they are dry rotted you might want to replace them before running the bio. It is known to be rough on rubber
Anyone have a schematic or pictures of those lines? I went and bought a tank based off oif Joes post, but still have an 1/8th of a tank of regular Diesel in the front tank to use up.
Most of your diesels that are 97 and up should have the newer seals in the motor so they don't tend to break down like the older models would. I use to make my own biodiesel and it worked great in my truck, it was just a pain in the butt to procces.
b20 runs fine in my truck. quieter (i think) and no problems with deposits breaking down clogging filter.
have you guys seen that study someone posted on some forum about how of all the diesel additives you can add, bio still beats them all for lubricity and noise?
running $3.24 here today (normal diesel is $3.10). that hurts a little, but my wife loves the smaller carbon footprint. she does the budget, so hey, if she wants me buying it- how can i resist?

Reason: missing word
the biggest reason that biodiesel will clog filters is because it cleans the system. it will clean a bunch of crap out of your fuel system. and it does lubricate much better. I know that farm tractors run better on biofuel than the "paint thinner" that they sell for highway diesel.
I could buy it here where I live but would have to get in bulk (300+ gallons). which would be fine if I had any extra fuel tanks for highway diesel. all of my tanks have offroad fuel in them.
anyone running B99 or 100 without any modification? i don't think we'll ever get anything better than B20 here (northern colorado) , but i'm curious all the same.
