!984 F-250 W3 Axle code?

I was looking at a 1984 F250 4x4 diesel today for sale. The tags on the axles were too rusty to read, but the code on the door jam was W3. Should be limited slip, but does anyone know the ratio for that code? Thanks in advance.

Yes, I did find that list when I searched before posting this, but W3 is not listed. Anyone have an owners manual from 84?

if both axle tags were to rusty, you can jack up an axle and count revolutions. I would guess its either 3.55, 3.73, 4.10
Have you driven it yet? @65mph with LT235/85/16 tires
3.55 gears =2450rpm
3.73=2570
4.10=2825

If it doesnt have 238/85/16 tires just let me know the size

No, I couldn't drive it, the clutch slave cylinder is out. It's a 84 f250 4x4 with a 6.9 and t19 4 speed. Someone also added an aftermarket turbo. I placed a local ad looking for a 83-94 diesel pickup, and this person responded. He says he'll let it go for $700. I was thinking of converting my 86 f250 ext cab 4x4 with 460 4 speed gas to a diesel and using this for a doner truck.

That W3 code doesn't show up in my 84 shop manuals, but, being a 4x4(which was only 3.54/5 and 4.10) and that all the other LS axle codes ending in 3 are 3.54, I'd venture to guess that it is 3.54 also.

If you really wanted to drive it, the clutch system from your 460 would swap right onto it...
If it runs good, and everything is in decent shape, it should make a good donor.
