Turbo Falling off
I was pulling my trailer home the other day and started to hear a funny whine from the turbo when I let off the gas. I got home and noticed that the top two bolts on the exhaust side of the turbo where gone. How the hell could this happen? Any idea what size, length and threads I need for those? It sucks not having one to compare when shopping. Also, could I have damaged the bearings of something else on the turbo?

well i have two of the bolts you need sitting here in the shop i won't use, you can PM me your address and ill ship it out, but i think your problem is a little bigger than just two bolts. Since you started hearing a sound, probably the turbine wheel in the exhaust path started hitting the housing. Best bet is to pull the turbo and inspect. If you feel a little mechanically inclined, i have a writeup saved, i can give you the link, and in 2-3 hours a new guy can have a turbo on the bench.
