I have a 2004 6.0 sd fx4 crewcab with a superchip programmer and bully dog air filter. Sometimes when I come to a stop sign or when just sitting parked at an idle the truck idles to a different tone and the throttle is lost. Been to dealership 3 times with same problem and they charge $100 each time. 1st time they said it was a programming issue so they reprogrammed it and I left my program out problem came back. 2nd they changed one blue hose on turbo and did recall 06e17 and 59b01 problem came back. 3rd and last time they replaced the gas pedal friday and i cranked it up this mourning problem is back. Now I am $300 in the hole with the same problem. The $100 is a deductible I pay on the power train warranty and I am tired of paying this. Anyone have any ideas for less than a $100?????????????
Does this mainly happen when the engine is up to operating temps or when you just crank it? When you throw the throttle to the floor does it just sit there and idle or does it finally die?

It has happened on first crank and when I have driven 300miles shut trk down for 20min to fuel. When you throw it to the floor it just sits there. But any time it happens I can cut the trk off and crank it back up problem is gone. It may not happen again for 2 days or it may happen at the next red light.
Sounds like a TPS to me, even though Ford already replaced it. I had a simlilar problem on one of the buses I work on. The throttle would drop out and I would have to restart the bus to get it to work again, but it would only work for a little while. Have them check to make DAMN SURE it is the correct part!!! That was my problem. The parts look the same from bus to bus, but they were different part numbers stamped on the part itself. Its easy to grab the wrong part. It took me 4 DAYS to figure it out!!! I had to load test every wire (on a 40 foot bus!!!!!) between the TPS and the ECM to make sure one wasnt held together by one strand and failed under load.
Now the reason I am referencing a bus is because it has the international engine in it.
The ECM (computer) sees two things from the TPS: 1) how much throttle the operator is inputing, and 2) checking for idle position. Its called Idle Validation. Thats to make sure that when the accelerator pedal is at idle, the ECM doesnt get confused and tell the engine to speed up. Its redunt, I know!
One more thing, does your check engine light come on?? Usually when the accelerator drops out, the check engine light will come on and it will log a code. I dont remember off the top of my head what the codes were.
I sure hopes this helps and I didnt type all this out for nothing!!! LOL

I can't help you on the problem you're having, but paying the $100 deductible for the same issue over and over is wrong. You shouldn't have to pay that deductible each and every time they work on it for the exact same problem.
i agree Although i really cant offer to much help it sounds like a TPS problem. But you just have to take it back and be very FIRM tell them LOOK i spent 300 already you cant fix it keep it till you do....and i want my other 200 dollars back also....tell them your gonna call the BBB and reccomend to everyone not to use the dealer. that should line them back up.
Every time this happens it gives a code p0603- internal Ctrl Mod KAM Error. But it does not make the svc engine light come on What is TPS?
TPS = Throttle Position Sensor. Its part of the throttle assy. Its the electronic sensor that tells the main engine computer how much throttle the operator is giving.
Had an 04 work truck and had the same symptoms and it ended up being a hpop issue. It would would still idle when you had your pedal to the floor but it finally got to the point where it wouldnt even start. It would act up then wouldnt show up for awhile then finally the occurances got closer till finally the engine wouldnt start b/c there wasnt enough oil pressure to fire the injectors. This may not be your problem but they are pretty similar to the one we had w/ our work truck.
I took my 2003 6.0L into the dealer for an oil leak and they performed FSA 06E17 and 59B01 and the next day I had these symtopms. Refer to TSB 06-24-06.
ISSUE:
Some 2003-2004 F-Super Duty and Excursion vehicles equipped with the 6.0L engine built on or before 9/29/2003 may experience a P006A or P132B Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) with a lack of power condition, surge, or turbocharger flutter after performing Field Service Action (FSA) 06E17, or after recalibrating the vehicle with the inferred Exhaust Pressure (EP) strategy.
