Hey all,
I have decided while I have the top of the motor apart to install the EGR bypass kit, I am also going to do the head bolt to stud conversion. I see everyone likes the ARP which I like those as well. Who has a kit for the ARP head studs and gaskets together? I am pulling the heads today and sending them out to be maganfluxed and x-rayed to make sure the heads are OK. Then I will have the heads resurfaced but not taking more than .005" off. But even before I send them out I will check for straightness. If heads are OK then they will get sent out. So anyway, who has a stud and gasket kit available? Also my PSD is a 2004.5. Do I need to upgrade the exhaust pipe from the manifolds to the turbo. I am doing all this cause I am tired of the coolant issue. I only have for mods is the Superchips programmer with only tow safe mode installed, 4" open exhaust and a K&N air induction (thinking of going back to the paperfilter though). I was also thinking about a coolant filter as well. I mean why not? Now it the time to do things. Do some monor updrages.

We do carry a kit with the ARP Head Studs and a wire ring gasket. The wire ring provides the greatest portion of the strength of a fire ring; without the need to remachine the head.

Did lots of research and ended up w/ Spartan installed Hypermax wire-rings and ARP studs. For the money its the best deal going and Matt will hook you up.

Hey do I need to change the up pipes as well?

 

I am also looking into having the ARP head studs installed. Do I have to remove the heads and replace the Head Gaskets? Are the stock gaskets junk? I am planning getting a programmer from you guys after I get my truck ready. I have already done is 4" turbo back (cat is still there I get smog checked), EGR delete, and Zooodad cut out. I am planning on using my truck as a toy hauller and nice burn outs lol...
