heater core probs...

hey guys, got a '83 f150 351 auto w/air...today replaced the heater core with proper one , hooked everything up right, just took it for a spin and got antifreeze comming into the cab now. if i messed up a hose, would it cause it to leak into the cab???

Ouch! If there are no leaks at the hose fittings, you may have gotten a defective core or damaged it during assembly. If it was an Everco or Four Seasons brand, my bet is on a defective core.

there was some leakage at the inlet hose, i lifted it today and i could hear gurgling, thus thinking its the hose. tomorrow will let me know.

Leaking solder joints could be the culprit. Hook up a garden hose to it and test before install.

this core had no solder joints at the inlet and outlets. it was a really weird looking system that allowed the in/outlets to turn for easier installation. it was 75.00 CAD...is that high??
