\emergency cables

I have a 93 f150 4x4 and want to know how to install and adjust the emergency brake cables. Where is the adjustment? On the pedal? Do I have to slack off the rear shoes in order to connect the rear cable to the main front?

I have solved the problem today. Just have to pull the front cable out completely and make sure the pedal is all the way up or released. Now you are able to pull on the front cable from under the truck (with a little extra force ) and it will release enough to let you connect with the rear cables. It works as a rachet type of release from the emegency pedal and keeps the proper pressure on the e cables when released.
