I want to put a early model 302 in my 63 unibody that my grandfather graciously donated to me, and i believe he told me that the block is out of a 1967 model car, my question is will a later model 5 speed manual from a fox body 5.0 bolt up to the older block, and if it will what modifications will be needed to be done to the clutch rod assembly to make it work with the new tranny.
Actually Bobby the Mustangs use a cable operated clutch. It can be done without too much trouble tho, it takes a T5 with bellhousing or an adapter plate for your bell to mate it up to the engine. The clutch can be made to work with your linkage I believe. The Mustang parts vendors have some kits that might be of use try Texas Mustang, National Parts Depot, Mac's Antique, etc. for a look at the kits.
I know about the cable, Putt.
There are aftermarket masters and slaves that make it a lot easier on the leg muskels
My uncle had them on his 427 Galaxies.
I just figure it's easier cuz it takes away the old worn out mechanical linkage and allows you to run a nice heavy clutch.
