display went blank

display went blank

I love my 2000 but my temp and compass display above my review mirror went blank. If I tap on it hard and press the selector button (farenheit to celcius) the display sometimes comes on for a second or two. I figure it's a cold solder joint but I'm not sure how to remove the upper control panel to get into the controls.

any help would be great.
