Do you have the 5.0 litre? What tranny you have? My 87' is the 5.0 litre with the C6 tranny no overdrive and it revs quite a bit just doing 100km/h, she is a pig on gas for sure, maybe 400kms per tank. It sure does'nt go far when your tank is only 70 liter. A lot different from the 1994 T-bird with the 3.8 liter engine. I'm getting 600 - 700kms to a 70 liter tank with that car and it had 390,000kms on it.
has ya truck had a tune up lately, plugs timing, air and/or fuel filters,is the auto ok, shifting ok and not slipping, exhaust ok no blocked cats, starting with a tuneup is easiest all these can effect your fuel economy, hope this helps bud
1990? original engine - original 302 - maybe time for a rebuild if it has not had one already- will low compression rob an engine of MPG?
Start with a tune up and if the budget allows freshen up the internals of the 302.
What milage are you getting specifically? Any bad sensor will affect milage. Pull the codes first. If that doesn't show anything then tell us how it runs besides having bad milage.
